1980s Kid Joy at an Oregon Trail computer beside Pioneer Joy imagining the journey west

An interactive musical adventure presented by Professor Joy

The Oregon Trail: What Didn't Fit?

2,000 miles. One floppy disk. A whole lot more to discover.

Kids become part of an 1848 wagon train—packing supplies, making difficult choices, crossing rivers and discovering that history is much bigger than what can fit on a floppy disk.

Pack the wagon—we're going to Oregon!

Two journeys, more than a century apart

The story moves between Pioneer Joy, making the journey in 1848, and 1980s Kid Joy, who is sure she knows the Oregon Trail because she knows the computer game.

Through music, comedy, storytelling and surprising discoveries, the audience ventures beyond the floppy disk to ask: What didn't fit? Whose stories weren't on the screen? What happened before anyone pressed START?
